Lily has an ugly appearance due to a skin condition that causes constant red rashes and itching. Her parents show no interest in her, only caring about her sister Jessica, who is beautiful and popular at school. Lily is shunned by her classmates and disliked by teachers, while Jessica is adored for her looks and academic achievements. Lily is envious of Jessica, especially when their new classmate Jack develops a crush on Jessica instead of her.
Lily has a delusional belief that Jack is interested in her, when in reality he is just being kind. At Jack’s birthday party, Lily tries to make a move on him but is rejected and becomes the laughingstock of the party. Despite Jessica’s attempts to defend her, Lily blames her sister for everything.
This incident worsens Lily’s mental state, leading her to kill Jessica and wear her sister’s face as a mask. As she hears the doorbell ring, with Jack waiting outside, Lily’s distorted psyche prepares for the prom night.
